If you attach a C4 charge to a wild dino, and then grapple the C4, the line will not break when they begin to flee. Not the most practical method of taming or what have you, since it's an incredible shot at any distance on a moving target, but theoretically plausible.
If your character has extremely high weight capacity, you can fill up your inventory and then grapple a dinosaur with lower weight capacity than you to lock it in place for an easy tame. Usually only helpful with mods for higher or better leveling.
