Black Pearls are a resource in ARK: Survival Evolved. They can be obtained by harvesting dead Trilobite.png Trilobite, Deathworm.png Deathworm, Eurypterid.png Eurypterid, Ammonite.png Ammonite, Tusoteuthis.png Tusoteuthis, Alpha Tusoteuthis and Alpha Mosasaur.png Alpha Mosasaur. They can also drop as rare loot when catching fish with a Fishing Rod.png Fishing Rod. Gachas can also produce many items as well as black pearls depending on the gacha.

Black Pearls are used in crafting and are a key component in Tek Tier crafting recipes.

Use an Ichthyosaurus.png Ichthy or Manta.png Manta to hunt Eurypterid.png Eurypterid. They have no knockback and don’t gain any Torpidity.png Torpidity, which the Eurypterids can massively inflict. This allows you to attack and kill them effortlessly. Be wary however, the eurypterid also rapidly drains the stamina of tamed dinos and will leave you vulnerable to the other terrors of the deep.

Another way to hunt them is to hit one with a Grappling Hook.png Grappling Hook and then use a fast water mount to drag it to the shore, where it can be harvested by a Therizinosaur for extra pearls.

Beelzebufo do increased damage against Eurypterid.png Eurypterid and also gather black pearls at an increased rate.

While an Eurypterid.png Eurypterid only drops a few pearls, an Alpha Mosasaur.png Alpha Mosasaur drops 100 Black Pearls and an Alpha Tusoteuthis.png Alpha Tusoteuthis drops 75.

Weight Reduction[edit | edit source]

The following creatures reduce the weight of Black Pearl by the listed amount while it is in their inventory:

Ragnarok[edit | edit source]

A unique black variant of the clam, like Silica Pearls.png Silica Pearls, can be found in Ragnarok These can be harvested for 5-20 black pearls. Moreover, unlike the clams that gives Silica Pearls, the clams disregards loot drop multiplier from server setting, and as such does not give extra Black Pearls at any rate past 1.

Aberration[edit | edit source]

A unique black variant of the clam, like Silica Pearls.png Silica Pearls, can be found near the rivers at Graves of the Lost. These can be harvested for 5-20 black pearls, but can be dangerous due to radiation and nearby threats (Such as Nameless.png Nameless, Rock Drake.png Rock Drake and any aggressive dino dropped from above). Moreover, unlike the clams that gives Silica Pearls, the clams disregards loot drop multiplier from server setting, and as such does not give extra Black Pearls at any rate past 1.

Extinction[edit | edit source]

In Extinction, Black Pearls can be produced by Gacha.png Gachas. This allows one to easily acquire large amounts of Black Pearls by feeding Stone.png Stone and other resources to a Gacha.png Gacha.

Black Pearls are also dropped by large corrupted carnivores such as Corrupted Spino.png Corrupted Spino, Corrupted Rex.png Corrupted Rex, Corrupted Wyvern.png Corrupted Wyvern, and Corrupted Giganotosaurus.png Corrupted Giganotosaurus in the north. These creatures have a small chance of dropping 1-6 black pearls.
