Overview[edit | edit source]
After two Archaeopteryx mate, the resulting egg can be hatched and become a baby Archaeopteryx. A Player picking one up in the presence of nearby Archaeopteryx (excluding domesticated ones) will cause them to become hostile and attack the Player.
Collecting[edit | edit source]
Archeopteryx eggs can be retrieved from wild or tamed Archeopteryx
Taking an egg from a wild Archeopteryx will cause it to attack you, however there is little risk in picking up an Archeopteryx egg due to their very low - to none damage. A survivor just has to pick it up.
You can alternatively take the eggs from a tamed Archeopteryx without her becoming aggressive. The rate of egg laying can be improved if you have a male Archeopteryx for the Mate Boost and an Oviraptor near by.
