Artifacts

Artifacts are special items in ARK: Survival Evolved that can be found in Caves around the ARK. They can be found in a loot-crate at the end of the cave, and obtaining them can be fairly dangerous. Currently, their only use is to summon the bosses. They can also be placed on Artifact Pedastal.png Artifact Pedastals for decoration purposes.

Currently, 20 Artifacts exist in the game, however only 10 of them can be obtained without using cheats on The Island, 11 on The Center and Ragnarok, 3 on Scorched Earth, 3 on Aberration, 3 on Extinction, and 10 on Valguero.

On ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile, Artifacts can be Tributed at Obelisk.png Obelisks for loot.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Artifacts are used to summon boss monsters at the Obelisks or placed on a Artifact Pedastal.png Artifact Pedastal for decoration.
    • More than one kind of artifact (Excluding Tek Cave) is required to start any of the boss on most of the map. However, Extinction boss only require one of such artifact (which is spawned at the same location as where the terminal would be) along with other tributes to summon them.
  • V254.0 changed that only humans can carry artifacts. But the Otter.png Otter (introduced in v267.0) can also hold artifacts, even multiple of the same type.
  • In Singleplayer, artifacts are set to respawn after 30 minutes (since v260.0). It is also possible that it is not at its expected place when teleporting using setplayerpos command to its coordinates. It might appear after a while waiting in that area.
