Basic Info[edit | edit source]
Behavior[edit | edit source]
The Bloodstalker is an aggressive creature in ARK Survival Evolved that uses its web to stick to you and pull you up to it. This can happen while riding another dino so make sure your dino is on follow (Bloodstalkers included).
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Color Scheme and Regions[edit | edit source]
The Bloodstalker's information is currently unknown, because it was recently released.
If you want to help with this section, you can add the color region descriptions by clicking "Edit Source" at the top of the page. See Template:PaintRegions for documentation on how to use this template.
Drops[edit | edit source]
Base Stats and Growth[edit | edit source]
Note that creatures will have different stats in Survival of the Fittest
|Attribute||Amount at Level 1||Increase per point||Taming Bonus|
|Torpidity||180.5||+Expression error: Missing operand for *.||N/A4|
1Percentages are based on the value of the stat the moment the creature was tamed (after taming effectiveness)
2The absolute Base Damage is shown here instead of the percentage.
3Wild creatures do not level up movement speed
4Torpidity increases every level on wild creatures, but can not be increased once they are tamed.
|Movement Type||Base Speed||Sprinting|
- These are the base speeds of the creature at 100% Movement Speed
- For a comparison of the speeds of all creatures, see Base Creature Speeds
Wild Stats Level-up
Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats it's emphasized. Green values on a high-level creature are very good for breeding. If you have already tamed your creature you can try to recover the breeding-stats with an external tool.
The stat-calculator does not work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps
Note that after the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed creature, so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a first impression, how well the stats are distributed.
Combat[edit | edit source]
This section describes how to fight against the Bloodstalker.
General[edit | edit source]
Strategy[edit | edit source]
Be sure to have a parachute in case you are latched from high in the tree. You will most likely not see them as you are passing by but when they grab you with their web you won’t be able to do anything until they have you up to their body but when you are close you can just punch them and they will drop you
Dangers[edit | edit source]
An unprepared survivor can easily be killed by a Bloodstalker. Bloodstalkers are found high up waiting on tree branches, which means you can die from fall damage when escaping it's grasp. It's recommended to bring a parachute to safely return to the ground. Be aware however as other Bloodstalkers can catch and reel you in as you parachute down.
Weakness[edit | edit source]
If a bloodstalker latches onto a you, hitting them will allow you to be free.
Taming[edit | edit source]
For general information about domesticating a wild creature see Taming.
You will need a lot of Blood Packs to tame a Bloodstalker. Simply find one and let it web you in. The Bloodstalker will then start eating the blood packs out of your inventory. If done successfully, you will have tamed a Bloodstalker.
Preferred Food[edit | edit source]
Strategy[edit | edit source]
Have a few parachutes with you as you’ll be pulled high into the big trees. You need to let the Bloodstalker latch onto you and it will take the Blood Pack from your inventory. No damage will be done to you as long as you have the Blood Pack.
Utility[edit | edit source]
Tamed Bloodstalkers latch onto survivors and provide the survivor with height and enhanced vision. Due to its nature, this Creature can latch onto branches and attachable walls with its silk and swing from one end to another, latching onto another while swinging.
Moreover, if the survivor pulls out a Weapon, it will adjust itself upwards to allow for a clearer shot.
Tamed Bloodstalkers have a special, toggle-able ability called "Spider Vision". It marks creatures in red, yellow, white and green, similar to the Tek Helmet's pulse mode.
The Bloodstalker can switch from swimming to walking on water by pressing x, giving it effectively unlimited stamina in the water as long as it stays near the surface.
When on water press X and you can submerge. Press X again and resurface.
When falling hold LeftControl and you will fall slowly like a parachute.
This creatures ability to use web is unmatched. You can hang from ceilings and latch on to a variety of creatures (including Pteras and Tapejaras) and pull them in to feast on or just to hold in suspension .
When you reel in prey and start feeding it will replenish health off of the creature.
It will slowly take the riders hp if its own hp drops below 25%.
It has a double jump feature, either once mid air or when falling.
Roles[edit | edit source]
Megalodon tamer: by walking above the surface of the water and shooting into the water with tranqs, one can easily tame megalodons
Fisherman: by walking above the water and grappling fish, one can gather large amounts of fish meat very quickly
Recon Scout: although the bloodstalker can't carry much weight, once the rider is used to the web mechanism they can travel incredibly quickly
Collectibles[edit | edit source]
Spotlight[edit | edit source]
Notes/Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The way Bloodstalker often swings its legs around after the web detaches while slinging itself is almost similar to "Spiderman".
- The Chibi-Bog Spider is the Chibi-Pet of the Bloodstalker, suggesting that "Bog Spider" is the internal name for it.
- The Bloodstalker bears some resemblance to the Aerial Symbiote which is a living creature from Ark Mobile that attaches itself to the player similarly to the Bloodstalker and helps the player.
- The Bloodstalker is ignored by normally hostile creatures, like Raptors. Even though Spider Vision marks them red
- When the Bloodstalker is low it will drain the riders hp so be carefull.
