Movement
Move Forward W Xbox: Left Stick Up PS4: Left Stick Up
Move Backwards S Xbox: Left Stick Down PS4: Left Stick Down
Strafe Left A Xbox: Left Stick Left PS4: Left Stick Left
Strafe Right D Xbox: Left Stick Right PS4: Left Stick Right
Run Left Shift Press Xbox: Left Stick Press PS4: Left Stick When used while moving forward, will cause you to increase forward movement speed at the cost of increased stamina use, and over-rides 'Toggle Run' to on. A character may only run forwards; strafing and backpedaling speed will remain constant.
Toggle Run Right Shift Press Xbox: Left Stick Press PS4: Left Stick Will toggle whether run is on or off (I.E., whether you run or walk) upon input of 'Move Forward'. Can be used while standing still.
Jump SPACE Xbox: A PS4: Cross Causes a character to jump up while stationary, and jump directionally when moving. also to ascend to surface when diving.
Crouch C Press Xbox: Right Stick Press PS4: Right Stick Also used to descend while diving.
Prone X Long Press Xbox: Right Stick Long Press PS4: Right Stick Causes the player's character to lay down.

Xbox/PS4: One must release pressure after a pause. Also used to descend while diving.

Battling
Primary Fire Left Mousebutton Xbox: RT PS4: unkown parameter. Follow link to see list of possible parameters Will cause the primary attack with a weapon or tool, such as shooting a projectile weapon or swinging a melee weapon.
Aim-Down Sights/ Alternate Fire Right Mousebutton Xbox: LT PS4: L2 Will bring up the sights of a weapon, uses the alternate action of the object if one exists (such as the Grappling Hook un-spooling), or otherwise does nothing.
Toggle Fists Q Xbox: LB + Xbox: Dpad Up PS4: L2 + PS4: Dpad Up Removes (or equips) item so that fists can be used.
Reload weapon R Xbox: X PS4: Square Will manually trigger the reload animation to fill the magazine with available corresponding ammunition.
Drag Body G Xbox: Y PS4: Triangle Drags a corpse or unconscious body.
Melee/Pistol Whip Left CTRL Xbox: RB PS4: R1 Has the same effect as primary fire on a melee weapon, but will trigger a melee animation/attack with projectile weapons, if applicable.
Toggle Weapon Attachment N Xbox: X x 2 PS4: Square Will turn off or on a weapon's attachment (if applicable). If the weapon attachment is toggle-able, it will always be off by default.
Camera
Toggle Orbit Camera K Hold Xbox: Windows + Xbox: Left Stick to '11'* PS4: Touch Pad + PS4: Left Stick to '11'* Gives the camera an inverted third-person view of the character, which is not recommended for use while playing the game.
Zoom Camera In Mouse Scroll Up None PS4: L2 Zooms camera in to first person mode
Zoom Camera Out Mouse Scroll Down None PS4: L1 Zooms camera out to third person mode
HUD
Extended HUD Info Hold H Hold Xbox: Windows Hold PS4: Touch Pad Displays additional information such as map location, temperature, time of day, etc.

Actions
Open Inventory I Press Xbox: B Press PS4: Circle
Use E Xbox: Y PS4: Triangle Activates the default action of an object, such as opening a door, climbing a ladder, or opening a storage box's inventory.
Access Other's Inventory F Xbox: X PS4: Square Opens the inventory of any applicable object, such as crafting stations, storages, and unconscious or dead bodies. Also throws shoulder-mounted creatures when pressed twice. (Use R once when mounted.)
Use Hotbar Slot Item 0 - 9 Xbox: unkown parameter. Follow link to see list of possible parameters, Xbox: X/Xbox: Y/Xbox: A/Xbox: B/Xbox: Dpad Left/Xbox: Dpad Right

Whistle Menu ' Hold Xbox: B Hold PS4: Circle Displays the whistle selection menu (PC) or whistle selection radial wheel (Xbox/PS4).
Chat
Toggle Auto-Hide Chat box \ None; Accessible in Options None; Accessible in Options When on, chat box will disappear moments after the last message is sent.
Global Chat Enter Xbox: LB + Xbox: Windows PS4: L1 + PS4: Touch Pad Chat with all players on the server.
Local Chat Insert None Chat with nearby players.
Tribe Chat / Xbox: LB + Xbox: Menu Chat with tribemates.
Alliance Chat Home Chat with alliance-mates.
Scroll Chat Up Page Up None Scrolls up through the chat box.

Push to Talk B None Hold to speak to other players using your microphone.

Xbox/PS4: If a microphone is plugged in and enabled, talking into it will automatically allow nearby players to hear depending on server settings.

Whistles
Whistle Selection ' Hold Xbox: B Hold PS4: Circle Displays whistle selection menu.
Follow All J Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '12'* All dinosaurs within a certain radius will follow you.
Follow One T Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '1'* The dinosaur you are looking at will follow you.
Stop All U Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '2'* All dinosaurs within a certain radius will stop following you.
Stop One Y Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '3'* The dinosaur you are looking at will stop following you.
Aggressive None None All dinosaurs within a certain radius will change their aggression level to Aggressive.

Xbox: This aggression level is on the whistle wheel, but this will actually cause the aggression level 'Attack My Target' to be set, and it is unknown if this is intended.

Attack My Target = Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '4'* All dinosaurs within a certain radius will change their aggression level to Attacking Your Target.
They will terminate their current attacks and will defend themselves if they are attacked, but will prioritize attacking whatever you attack.Xbox: Whistling 'aggressive' will actually cause this action to occur, and it is unknown if this is intended. This aggression setting does not actually have its own whistle.
Neutral - Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '5'* All dinosaurs within a certain radius will change their aggression level to Neutral.
They will terminate all their current attacks but will continue to defend themselves if they are attacked again.
Passive ; Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '6'* All dinosaurs within a certain radius will change their aggression level to Passive.
They will terminate all their current attacks and will not defend themselves if attacked further.
Attack This Target . Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '7'* Hold PS4: L1 + PS4: Dpad Down All dinosaurs within a certain radius will attack whatever target you are looking at. This whistle can be used while looking at a target through the Spyglass.
Show Inventory Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '8'* Xbox: This action will open your character's inventory, and is a long-form command of simply pressing the 'Open Inventory' command.
Misc.
Emotes Long Press

Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '9'* Opens a further radial wheel for emotes.
Show Craftables V Press Xbox: B then Xbox: RB OR

Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '10'*

Xbox: This action will immediately open your craftable inventory, rather than the character inventory.
Defecate + Hold Xbox: B + Xbox: Left Stick to '11'* Makes character defecate.

While Riding A Creature or Vehicle[edit | edit source]

Mount / Dismount E Xbox: Y PS4: Triangle Will cause the character to get on a creature if on foot, or get off the creature if mounted. Some creature dismounts will 'jump' your character off (which typically occurs on small-mid creatures, such as on the Parasaur, Pteranodon, and Carno), while others will cause you to stand on the back of the creature after dismount (which typically occurs on large creatures, such as on the Stegosaurus, Quetzal, and Rex).
Primary Fire Left Mousebutton Xbox: RT PS4: R2 Will use a creature's primary attack.
Alternate Fire Right Mousebutton Xbox: LT PS4: L2 Will use a creature's alternate attack/action if applicable, or will use primary fire if not.
Jump SPACE Xbox: A PS4: Cross Only some creatures -such as Raptors and Terror Birds- can use this command.
Land/ Take-off SPACE Xbox: A PS4: Cross With no other input, will cause the animal to land on a suitable, horizontal surface to land, and will cause the creature to launch and hover a few feet above ground to take-off.

(Flying creatures only).

Brake X (Not Customizable) None Stop flying creature from flying forward.
Throw Shoulder Mount R Xbox: Y x 2 PS4: Triangle x 2 Throws shoulder-mounted creature (such as a Dimorphodon or a Mesopithecus) while mounted. (Press F twice while unmounted.)
Aileron roll/3rd action C Press Xbox: Right Stick PressPS4: Right Stick Makes the Pteranodon perform a roll, or other creatures 3rd fire/action (ex: Tapejara "taunt").

Note: Some people may incorrectly refer to this with the popular term 'barrel roll,' rather than the proper (and markedly different) 'aileron roll.'

*Xbox Note: This refers to the corresponding 'o'clock' position on an analog clock, compared to the radial wheel, where '12' is up, '3' is right, '6' is down, and '9' is left.
