Players can become sick when infected with diseases. Many diseases will be added, with various cure-related items, such as extracts from the Ammonite and Woolly Rhino Horn.

Disease Prevention[edit | edit source]

  • Investing attribute points in Fortitude will boost your natural immunity to Disease by a small percentage. While the data isn't available, the Patch Notes for v242.6 confirm that 90 Fortitude (or 45 level-ups in Fortitude at 2 points per level-up) will grant an 80% reduction in Disease chance.
  • A Gas Mask will protect you from airborne contagions. (The gas mask will protect you from swamp fever)

Contagious Diseases[edit | edit source]

Swamp Fever

Swamp Fever.png

HUD Text: Swamp Fever: Health, Damage, Weight, Stamina & Speed are permanently decreased until Cured!

Effects:

Vectors:

  • Contact transmission with a Diseased Leech.
  • (PVP) Airborne transmission from infected Humans and tamed Dodos. Dead Dodos that were infected still carry swamp fever.
  • (PVE) Airborne transmission from infected tribemates.

Cure:

  • Lesser Antidote
  • Upon administration of the cure, Humans and Dodos have immunity from this disease for three minutes.
  • Making use of an Obelisk or Supply Crate to transfer your survivor to a new server will purge it of this disease. On the new server, you can transfer back in the same way to continue on your current server without Swamp Fever. This is often much easier to do if you are unable to acquire the many rare ingredients required for an antidote.

Notes:

  • Bug Repellant will render you invisible to Leeches as a preventative measure. However, they will still be aggressive if you attack them.
  • Leveling up any of your attributes used to be able to remove the sickness.

HUD Text: Applies damage over time to death

Effects: Loses 1 point hp every second

Vectors:

  • Entering an Elements region of Aberration without Full Hazard Protection. Effect stacks.

Cure:

  • Mushroom Brew Aberration Icon.png Can be given to tamed dino not suited for Element regions immunity to radiation. Effect does not stack. Cannot be consumed by humans.
  • Auric Mushroom Aberration Icon.png Can be eaten to remove ~4 seconds of radiation sickness per 1.
  • Hazard Suit Aberration Icon.png Must be worn in full to take effect. Note: wearing the suit does not remove existing radiation sickness, it only prevents acquiring it in the first place, or extending the duration of existing radiation sickness.
  • Lamprey Have a lamprey attached to you. Provides Charge light and Radiation immunity so long as it remains attached. Does not remove existing radiation sickness however.

Notes: This status occurs on Aberration map by being around radioactive parts of the map. Not wearing the whole Hazard Suit will cause you to take damage over time.

Cure yourself of Swamp Fever.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • If the option "Prevent Disease" in advanced server/single player setting is checked, players will be immune to Swamp Fever, Mega Rabies and Lamprey Poison, but not Radiation Disease, as this one is considered as an environmental negative status.
  • Players will have their disease cured upon respawn if "Non Permanent Disease" is checked.
