The Spino Egg is one of the Dinosaur Eggs in ARK: Survival Evolved.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Spino Eggs are randomly dropped by Spinosaur.png Spinos. They can be eaten or used to make Superior Kibble.png Superior Kibbles for taming Allosaurus.png Allosaurus, Argentavis.png Argentavis, Giant Beaver.png Castoroides, Daeodon.png Daeodon, Direbear.png Direbear, Direwolf.png Direwolf, Dunkleosteus.png Dunkleosteus, Gasbags.png Gasbags, Mammoth.png Mammoth, Megalodon.png Megalodon, Megalosaurus.png Megalosaurus, Megatherium.png Megatherium, Paraceratherium.png Paraceratherium, Plesiosaur.png Plesiosaur, Snow Owl.png Snow Owl, Tapejara.png Tapejara, and Woolly Rhinoceros.png Woolly Rhino. On ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile, they can be used to make Kibble (Mobile).png Kibble (Spino Egg) for taming Megalodons.

After two Spinosaur.png Spinos mate, the resulting egg can be hatched and become a baby Spinosaur.png Spino. A Player picking one up in the presence of nearby Spinosaur.png Spinos (excluding domesticated ones) will cause them to become hostile and attack the Player.

Collecting[edit | edit source]

If a player wishes to retrieve a wild Spino Egg, then an aerial mount is an excellent idea. Snatching the egg followed by a quick ascent into the air is a surefire means of reaching quick safety from a provoked Spinosaur. Unlike other theropods, an aquatic mount is not a guaranteed means of escape, as Spinos can chase after an assailant into the water as well. If one desires a more aggressive strategy, mounts and/or other players can distract a Spinos, though any casualties are questionable just to obtain an egg. A well equipped player with a Rex and some backup or something similar in power can potentially outright kill a Spino if fleeing is not an option.

Super Fertilized Egg (Mobile)[edit source]

Logo Mobile.svg This section is about a feature exclusively available on Mobile

The Super Fertilized Spino Egg is a type of Dinosaur Egg.png Egg exclusive to ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile.

A Super Fertilized Spino Egg can be obtained after a female Spinosaur.png Spino with the proper Pheromone applied has laid an egg. It will hatch quicker than a normal Dinosaur Egg.png Fertilized Egg and the baby will have better stats when the egg has hatched.

A Super Fertilized Spino Egg can also be used to make Super Kibble (Mobile).png Super Kibble which will tame creatures faster and with more taming effectiveness.

Notes/Trivia[edit | edit source]

From a distance Spino eggs look like they're emitting light, but they don't close up.
