Basic Info[edit | edit source]

Dossier[edit | edit source]

This dossier section is intended to be an exact copy of what the survivor Helena, the author of the dossiers has written. There may be some discrepancies between this text and the in-game creatures.

Wild

A giant relative to the modern firefly, Lampyridae Sublimis bioluminescence can be sight to behold. Unfortunately for these multicolored insects, its predators are less interested in their natural beauty, and more keen on obtaining the charge light they store in their posterior sack.

With a slow flight speed and little in the way of natural defenses, Lampyridae is this cave system's resident victim, as predators and survivors alike hunt them down in search of that precious resource.

Domesticated

Unfortunately, Lampridae lacks the intelligence to be tamed, so attempts to create "glowbug farms" for charge light have been unsuccessful thus far. Glowbug hunts, on the other hand, are a frequent survivor past time.

~ Helena

Behavior[edit | edit source]

Passive, will flee when attacked.

Holds 500 charge which can be taken similarly to Jugbugs.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Looks like an oversized Firefly with a fairly wide green glowing aura.

Drops[edit | edit source]

Utility[edit | edit source]

For fresh survivors the Glowbug can be an early source of Chitin.png Chitin since they spawn in relatively high numbers in the easy spawn areas. Using a good gathering animal like a Ravager.png Ravager or even a Stone Hatchet.png Stone Hatchet can get you a decent supply of chitin and even some meat, if you are not in dire need of charge at the time.

Roles[edit | edit source]

Charge Source: Can be collected with emptied hands by approaching and pressing "use" (Default E/Xbox: Y/PS4: Triangle). Fills either Charge Battery (Aberration).png Charge Battery or a shoulder mounted pet.
