Recommended Mods[edit | edit source]

Playing Primal Fear on singleplayer is very different then playing on a server. Being the only person, the world is your sandbox... and the world is hell bent on killing you in return. That's why it is helpful to add a couple of mods to aid you on your journey to conquer the world of Primal Fear before it conquers you. Remember that these are not mandatory, but many of them can make the experience much more manageable.

  • Dino Storage V2
  • Structures Plus
  • Awesome Spyglass
  • Simple Spawners

Expansion Information[edit | edit source]

Scorched Expansion[edit | edit source]

Aberration Expansion[edit | edit source]

Extinction Expansion[edit | edit source]

Boss Expansion[edit | edit source]

Noxious Creatures[edit | edit source]

Contrary to popular belief, Noxious Creatures is not an expansion to Primal Fear, nor is it is recommended to use with Primal Fear. Noxious Creatures adds numerous dinos with vanilla stats with torpor added to their attacks. This seems like a simple addition, but it can quickly spiral out of control. It's wise to not use this mod.

The Island[edit | edit source]

Starting off[edit | edit source]

The Island is the most straightforward map for Primal Fear. The difficulty scales well even when new creatures are added to the spawn regions, and thus there won't be too many surprises waiting for you.
Recommended Base Locations: Hidden Lake, Redwood Tree Base(s), Herbivore Island. Avoid Building on Carnivore as the wide variety of spawns there could be useful.

Where to spawn[edit | edit source]

Anywhere is fine, just be mindful of your surroundings as Kamikaze Dodos can be anywhere a Dodo spawns, however, there are some advantages from spawning by Hidden Lake to build there early, the main one being a decently sized water source.
