Usage[edit | edit source]
When placed into any inventory or container, Preserving Salt will double the spoil timers of all perishables in that container (player and dino inventories included). For example, Raw Meat spoils after 10 minutes in the player inventory, but when putting Preserving Salt into the inventory, it will extend the spoil timer to 20 minutes. Preserving salt can even be used in combination with Preserving Bins, for maximum spoilage time. (Does not work for Non-Legacy Servers) The preserving effect only works per one stack of six preserving salt at a time. Having multiple stacks within an inventory will not increase the effect for a longer duration. Preserving salt is especially useful when taming a carnivore as it doubles the spoil time of prime meat in the creature's inventory.
Unpreservable items[edit | edit source]
The following items are unaffected by Preserving Salt:
Notes[edit | edit source]
- If placed into a Vessel, Preserving Salt will be preserved for approximately 694 days for later use.
- It can not be used in a Feeding Trough, as it will not accept Preserving Salt into its inventory.
