The Quetzal Egg is one of the Dinosaur Eggs in ARK: Survival Evolved.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Quetzal Eggs are randomly dropped by Quetzal.png Quetzals. They can be eaten or used to make Exceptional Kibble.png Exceptional Kibbles for taming Basilosaurus.png Basilosaurus, Brontosaurus.png Brontosaurus, Giganotosaurus.png Giganotosaurus, Karkinos.png Karkinos, Managarmr.png Managarmr, Mosasaurus.png Mosasaurus, Quetzal.png Quetzal, Rex.png Rex, Spinosaur.png Spinosaur, and Therizinosaur.png Therizinosaur. On ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile, they can be used to make Kibble (Mobile).png Kibble (Quetzal Egg) for taming Mosasaurus.png Mosasaurus, Dimetrodon.png Dimetrodon and Giganotosaurus.png Giganotosaurus.

After two Quetzal.png Quetzals mate, the resulting egg can be hatched and become a baby Quetzal.png Quetzal. A Player picking one up in the presence of nearby Quetzal.png Quetzals (excluding domesticated ones) will cause them to become hostile and attack the Player.

The egg can also be used to tame an Oviraptor.png Oviraptor.

Collecting[edit | edit source]

Retrieving a Quetzal Egg in the wild can be a surprisingly dangerous endeavor. Despite their usual skittish nature, a Quetzal provoked to anger is a dangerous adversary considering their health, speed, stamina, and attack. A Pteranodon.png Pteranodon trained for high speed can outrun a Quetzal, though will quickly be slain if used in an attempt for a counterattack. A nearby aquatic escape will allow a player to flee as a Quetzal will not enter water, though in many places this might not be possible. Bringing a tamed Quetzal or two as some backup can make the process somewhat safer, but if you have a tamed Quetzal or two, it's much safer to simply collect their eggs anyway, not to mention easier to find them.

Super Fertilized Egg (Mobile)[edit source]

Logo Mobile.svg This section is about a feature exclusively available on Mobile

The Super Fertilized Quetzal Egg is a type of Dinosaur Egg.png Egg exclusive to ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile.

A Super Fertilized Quetzal Egg can be obtained after a female Quetzal.png Quetzal with the proper Pheromone applied has laid an egg. It will hatch quicker than a normal Dinosaur Egg.png Fertilized Egg and the baby will have better stats when the egg has hatched.

A Super Fertilized Quetzal Egg can also be used to make Super Kibble (Mobile).png Super Kibble which will tame creatures faster and with more taming effectiveness.
