Ragnarok Arena
ArenaRagnarok
Arena for fighting Dragon and Manticore.
Location
Map

The Ragnarok Arena is a location in the Ragnarok DLC. The Arena is 20 °C or 68 °F but some parts are considered underwater due to a glitch even though they are not. so bring a little Hypothermal Insulation before coming to this fight.

Upon teleportation to the Ragnarok Arena, both the Dragon Dragon and Manticore Manticore will appear and fight the players at the same time. A timer will immediately begin counting down from 40 minutes,[1] so both bosses must be defeated within that time. Once the timer expires all players, dinos and items in the arena are destroyed.

The arena itself is significantly larger than those found on The Island.

Drops[]

Inventory
Item Level
Gamma Beta Alpha
Element Element 65 200 410

Sometimes the Manticore doesn't drop Element, so the amount will be less.

  • The Dragon will always have 40 125 220 Element Element in its corpse inventory, which will despawn according to the server corpse despawn timer setting.
    • Looks like this is fixed by now (v312.57). After the fight one Rex had the Element/Trophies from the Manticore and one the Element/Trophies from the Dragon in their inventory. (Manticore loot found in arena, Dragon loot after arena) (Gamma Fight). In Beta-fight, Dragon had the element on his body in the arena and Manticore didn't drop any loot, not in the arena (body vanished?) nor on a Rex.
  • Additionally, the Manticore will reward 25 75 190 Element Element to any dinosaur that deals the killing blow.
  • Unfortunately due to a bug, if the player deals the killing blow to the Manticore, no element will be rewarded.

So if you want to get all the element for a dragon kill, you must gather the element from the inventory of the dragon (if it isnt gathered by your dinos) and also ensure that a dino lands the killing blow on the Manticore.

Combat[]

This section describes the best way to fight against the Dragon and Manticore.

General[]

Where possible, wear a Gas Mask Gas Mask to counter the effects of Manticore's torpidity cloud shrapnel.

Be mindful of the Rock Elementals that appear if the Manticore reaches a certain health state. It could pose a huge issue especially if the Dragon is still alive at that point of time.

Note: The Ragnarok variant Dragon takes 3.5x more damage than the Island variant Dragon, while having same stats.

Strategy[]

At the start of the fight, the Manticore will land and run towards the player and their Creatures and proceed to attack. (Or in rare cases, the Dragon will land and attack first.)

Possibly the best strategy is to attack the Dragon first because its Fire Breath attack can deal huge amounts of damage to your dinos and kill them within a few minutes.

Eventually, Rock Elemental will spawn in large numbers, so bringing 3-5 Rocket Launcher loaded with Rocket Propelled Grenade are a great way of taking them out.

Recommended Tames[]

  • An army of Therizinosaur Therizinosaur are a players best chance at beating the bosses since they have stats to rival the Rex's and because they are herbivores they take less damage from the Dragons attacks.
  • A Yutyrannus Yutyrannus can still be useful as long as it's mounted (so it's easier to keep safe and can be used to full potential) and kept away from the Dragon instead acting as support buffing the Therizinos.
  • The Daeodon Daeodon if mounted and stocked up on food can still be useful to help the Therizino army kill the bosses by healing them overtime and reducing casualties.
  • Rex Rexs could still work however if attempted over the Therizino Strategy they would definitely need the help of a Daeodon and Yutyrannus due to the increased damage to carnivores.
  • A Small group of Woolly Rhino will make quick work of the dragon as well as the manticore. Be sure to bring Cakes and some stimulant due to the manticore.

Dangers[]

You will be fighting two bosses at the same time, and more wild and aggressive creatures will spawn than usual. Make sure you don't get kicked off your mount, but if you do, find a new, vacant one as soon as possible to avoid death.

Another danger is that of the Rock Elemental, because of it's 50% damage reduction from animals, and doesn't take damage from most primitive weapons.

Most of dangers are similar to that of both Dragon and Manticore.

Unlocks[]

Creatures[]

Notes[]

  • You have to be on the platform (mounted or not) in order to get teleported to the arena.
  • You must defeat The Bosses within the timer or you and your dinos will die and items will be lost.
  • Deathworm do not spawn in the case of Manticore's existence in Ragnarok Arena, but instead Griffin will spawn in its place.

Compatible Tamed Creatures

These restrictions do not apply to Extinction arena as the boss fight takes place inside the map rather than in a separate section of the map

Entry Restriction:

  • A maximum of 10 survivors and 20 creatures are allowed to enter the arena. In the case of Tek Cave, a maximum of 10 survivors and 40 creatures are allowed, but only 20 creatures can be warped in at any point of time to the arena itself per warp.
  • Most Arenas restrict survivors to ground-only creature. There are a few exceptions:
  • Exceptions for certain arenas are only valid for the listed arenas. E.g. Manticore Arena refers to the Manticore Arena in Scorched Earth but not Ragnarok Arena where you also have to fight against the Manticore.
  • A creature's "drag weight" must be less than 560. This is how much the creature itself weighs, not its carrying weight seen in its inventory.
To see this value in-game, place the creature on an Large Elevator Platform Elevator Platform with an empty inventory and no saddle.
