The Spino Egg is one of the Eggs in ARK: Survival Evolved.

Overview[]

Spino Eggs are randomly dropped by Spino Spinos. They can be eaten or used to make Superior Kibble Superior Kibble for taming Allosaurus Allosaurus, Argentavis Argentavis, Castoroides Castoroides, , Daeodon Daeodon, Dire Bear Dire Bear, Direwolf Direwolf, Dunkleosteus Dunkleosteus, Gasbags Gasbags, Mammoth Mammoth, Megalodon Megalodon, Megalosaurus Megalosaurus, Megatherium Megatherium, Paraceratherium Paraceratherium, Plesiosaur Plesiosaur, Snow Owl Snow Owl, Tapejara Tapejara, and Woolly Rhino Woolly Rhino. On ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile Logo Mobile, they can be used to make Kibble (Mobile) Kibble (Spino Egg) for taming Megalodons.

After two Spino Spinos mate, the resulting egg can be hatched into a baby Spino Spino.

Grabbing an egg in the presence of wild Spino Spinos will cause them to become hostile and attack the survivor.

Incubation

Disambig Main article: Incubation

The Spino Egg takes 3h 50m 45.047s to hatch. It must be in the temperature range of 30 to 32 °C / 86 to 90 °F to successfully hatch, otherwise it will start to lose Health Health. The female Spino Spino needs between 18h and 2d before having the capacity to lay eggs again. The incubation time can be reduced by up to 20% if the egg is placed in an Egg Incubator (Genesis Part 2) Egg Incubator at the ideal temperature.

Collecting[]

If a player wishes to retrieve a wild Spino Egg, then an aerial mount is an excellent idea. Snatching the egg followed by a quick ascent into the air is a surefire means of reaching quick safety from a provoked Spino. Unlike other theropods, an aquatic mount is not a guaranteed means of escape, as Spinos can chase after an assailant into the water as well. If one desires a more aggressive strategy, mounts and/or other players can distract a Spino, though any casualties are questionable just to obtain an egg. A well equipped player with a Rex and some backup or something similar in power can potentially outright kill a Spino if fleeing is not an option.

Super Fertilized Egg (Mobile)[]

Notes/Trivia[]

From a distance, Spino eggs look like they're emitting light, but they don't close up.
