Farming Obsidian

Did try to farm Obsidian today with vanilla game, didn't work at all, only gathered stone. Still valid information? --195.37.42.201 15:35, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Still valid, tested it right now on The Island. Although I noticed there are some of these black shiny rocks that don't yield any obsidian, especially on the volcano last part of the way up before you enter the the caldera. --Anonymous 18:27, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Dilo Kibble not working

Been using the Dilo Kibble and it just lowers his effectiveness. it was lvl 100 and had +49, after 20mins it is +11lvls and going down fast — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.44.45.87 (talkcontribs) at 17:39, August 26, 2015(UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

I'll add this to my list of things to check once I get the chance to play in 202. Keep in mind that taming effectiveness can also be decreased by a creature taking damage after it is knocked unconscious, so if a raptor came by and took a bite out of your tame when you weren't looking, that would also explain it. --Mr Pie 5 (talk) 20:57, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

Food Testing

I did a little bit of testing on a wild Doedicurus and here's what I found: When given the choice between what to eat, the Doedicurus will eat Dilo kibble first. After eating 4 kibbles, there was no drop in taming effectiveness. With Dilo kibble removed from his inventory, he then ate the Advanced Crops first, biasing towards whichever one was first in his inventory. The advanced crops only dropped effectiveness by 0.05 (the hundredth place does not render, I only know this because effectiveness went down 0.1 points every other time he ate one). With advanced crops and kibble removed, he then went for Mejoberries, which decreased effectiveness by 0.1 points. --Mr Pie 5 (talk) 23:28, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

Taming the Doedicurus

Hello Survivors, Not a lot of info on the Doedicurus, and I had the privilege of taming one last night so I thought it would be helpful to share the experience. The Doedicurus was a level 8 male, so I thought it would be a walk in the berry patch. Not so, hopefully you'll be more prepared than I was. The tame was a success; it took about 2 hours and 45 min. Taming effectiveness was in the 70 - 80 % range when I started and finished at 56%. It took 10 tranq arrows to bring him down and in the 2 hrs and 45 min he consumed: 150 Narcotic 100 Narco-berries 100 Rokarrots 100 Mejo-berries Once the Rokarrots ran out the taming effectiveness started to take a hit. Of course, using Dilo-kibble would have produced quicker results but I didn't have any and only lost +1 to level progression. So be prepared for a taming battle with this one, but know that the rewards are well worth it because the Doedicurus is a stone-collecting machine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Draven9x (talkcontribs) at 18:06, September 11, 2015(UTC). Pronunciation

I just noticed that the page was edited so that the pronunciation is listed as Day-dih-core-us instead of doh-dee-CURE-us. Is this correct?! It doesn't seem correct, but I can't find any sources that prove either. --Danlev (talk) 00:28, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

I googled it to see what I could find. That was a bad idea. Now instead of two pronunciations, I have 5: Day-dih-core-us, Doh-dee-cure-us, Doh-dih-cure-us, Doh-dik-yoo-rus, and Dee-dik-yoo-rus, and none of the websites seem more or less credible than each other. Personally, I call it Doh-dik-yoo-rus, but I also insist on pronouncing the 'P' in Pteranodon, so I'm probably not the best source for pronunciations.
