About Us[]

The Ninth Legion is a neutral, peacekeeping, mercenary group. Members of the Legion are active in the game, aged 18+ and enjoy the game as a whole. The idea to create the Legion came about after witnessing and hearing about raids on small tribes across different servers. Rarely do the more powerful tribes step in to protect new players or small tribes. Elimination of Gankers and Trolls are also high on the priority list.

Focus[]

The First Goal of the Legion is to recruit a member-base of mature, hard-working individuals. Second, after the Legion has a strong foundation, is to build power on Official Server 1 by forming alliances with other tribes and taming/breeding high level dinos. The End Goal of the Legion is to be act as neutral peacekeepers, or mercenaries if needed, on the ARK.

Ranks[]

1. Commander: The Commander is the Tribe Owner

2. Centurion: The 'Officer' rank of the Legion. There will only be two Centurions at a time; however, in the future more may be needed. One Centurion oversees the Legionaries and the other, the Engineers. The Centurions work closely with the Commander and form a 'Council' of sorts which governs the Legion.

3. Legionary: The Legionary specializes in the PvP aspect of the game. When the Legion is not at war or raiding Legionaries either train, tame, or build.

4. Engineer: The Engineer specializes in the PvE and building aspect of the game. The Engineer rank is for members that would like to stay out of combat.

5. Initiate: The basic recruit. 'Fresh-off-the-Beach'. Everybody in the Tribe starts here. Upon entry to the Legion the Initiate is given a Sponsor to shadow for a week of 'training'. After the first week the Initiate is promoted.

Rank Duties[]

1. Commander: The Commander has the last word in governing the tribe, manages the Legion as a whole, and works primarily with the Centurions to govern the Tribe.

2. Centurion: The Centurions are the primary officers of the tribe and work with the Commander in governing the Legion. The primary duty of the Centurion is management of Legionaries/Engineers. Secondary duties are anything a Legionary or Engineer would do. The requirements for promotion to Centurion are 600+ hours of ARK experience, the ability to work well with others, and a good attitude.

3. Legionary: The Legionary is the primary fighting force of the Legion. They patrol, defend, and fight to keep the Legion safe.

3. Engineer: The main duties of the Engineer vary based on what the member enjoys doing. Management of dinos and keeping the Fort in good repair are the most important jobs. Secondary duties can include building, breeding, and farming.

4. Initiate: Initiates are assigned a Sponsor upon joining. The Sponsor is responsible for any and all mistakes made by the Initiate during his/ her first week. The only job the Initiate has is to learn from and help his/her Sponsor. At the end of the first week the Initiate is promoted to Legionary or Engineer based on where his/ her interests lie.

Laws of the Legion[]

1. Listen to Superiors and Abide the Laws. They were made in the interest of protecting the Legion and ensuring cooperation between members and with other Tribes. Failure to follow the Laws or consistent, deliberate, disobedience on the part of ANY member will result in disciplinary action. However, civi debate of the Laws or orders given by Superiors is accepted and encouraged (Use your best judgement. Example: arguing with an order given by a superior during a raid is NOT a good time) .

2. Do not speak in Global Chat unless permission to do so is given by a Centurion or the Commander. The idea of 'out of sight, out of mind' is crucial in preventing raids or attacks on the Fort. Cutting out Global Chat also prevents the Legion from getting caught up in 'flame wars' or arguments with other tribes.

3. Always try to bring another member with you wherever you go. Strength is in numbers. An extra set of eyes can be the difference between life and death and also provides another perspective on 'hostile events' if one were to occur.

4. Provocation or engagement in hostile action with another Tribe without the consent of the Commander or a Centurion will not be tolerated. If you are attacked outside of the Fort attempt to find the root cause of the attack and attempt to de-escalate the situation. If negotiation fails then return to the Fort and report the attack to a superior.

5. Never give the location of the Fort to anyone. Not even allies. If meeting a member of a different Tribe always meet at (50,50) and if possible bring another member of the Legion with you. After the meeting try not head directly back to the Fort. The secrecy of the location of the Fort is important in prevention of raids or attacks.

6. Each member has his/her own mount that no one is to use. To designate the mount as a 'personal' mount leave a note saying so in the mount's inventory. 'Work dinos' that are used to gather resources are exempt. Each member gets TWO 'personal' mounts. Only in the event of an emergency (which is defined as either the mount 'getting out' or if the Fort is being attacked and the safety of the Dino is in jeopardy) can the 'personal' mount be used.

7. Members may only use flying mounts that were personally tamed by the individual. Flying mounts are fragile and have a tendency to die by auto-turret; therefore, to avoid conflict this Law was put into place.

8. Trees and rocks around the Fort are not to be cut down/mined. The trees provide cover which aids in the secrecy of the fort.
