Changes undid[]

https://ark.fandom.com/wiki/index.php?title=Mod:Ebenus_Astrum/The_Caverns_of_Happiness&diff=next&oldid=359442 you undid this changes but you didn't provide on a way to align the point to the correct position. --Hsilamot (talk) 17:13, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

I left you a message on your talk page which I didn't get notification that you had given me an answer to, The only way we have been able to obtain the positions is by using the Ark vanilla GPS and standing the character in the centre of the entrance and taking a reading. There is a screen shot on the page of the vanilla GPS being held in the centre of the entrance. The wiki team decided to use this method as there is a descrepency between the vanilla coordinate and those obtained from other sources for example Awesome Spyglass and we were getting people telling us our coordinates were wrong etc. etc. So we set a standard and have stuck to it as not everyone has this mod or that mod but everyone should have ark's own GPS. Hope this helps. As an addition the coordinate system on Ebenus Astrum is out of sorts at the moment as some areas are beyond 99.9, 99.9 and some people are finding that they can't re-spawn in their beds that are outside these coordinates. The map devs are aware of this but will not change the coordinates until the map has been fully opened up. Then they have said they will reset the coordinates so that the bottom right of the map will be 100, 100 and the top left will be 0,0 which will make every single coordinate on the wiki, at the moment, wrong. I may have repeated myself here and, if so, I apologise but we have had quite a lot of discussions with people telling us our coordinates are wrong, it may not look right on the map but the coordinates are the only thing that is referenced, if you go to those you should be standing in the entrance to the cave. We could have added a note saying that the coordinate system is dodgy but the devs weren't keen on the idea.EezaGeeza (talk) 18:41, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
I think that a note is important, because, even tough i recognize that some people will just follow the gps coordinates, in my case i was motivated to do the change (and again, leave Both points on the map to call for attention) was that a full tribe of 9 people were looking for the cave for like 20 minutes and they were like "there's probably a button" -- "but the wiki shows an open cave" and all of that stuff, at the end of the day a newcomer just came in and found it like, instantly, none of the guys on the big tribe found it because they don't carry gps with them, they are very used to just look at the red dots on the wiki and finding the stuff. So my suggestion for this problem is to leave both coordinates in the page and try to put a note clarifying why are they two points, or, see if there's a way to modify the wiki's code so you can put an optional "realign" parameter to manually move the point in the map regardless of the numbers that are displayed on the page. --Hsilamot (talk) 20:23, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
I've added a second location and a note to the cave, hopefully that will help people find the entrance EezaGeeza (talk) 08:26, 23 May 2019 (UTC).

Ebenus Astrum finish date?[]

I'm not trying to rush you or anything, but when do you think you will be done with the mod? Are there any areas that your satisfied enough for people to build on it without worrying that it could be wiped? 216.54.120.82 16:02, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

I've put the question to the Mod Devs, if they come back with a sensible answer I'll post here. You could join the (Discord channel) for help and updates. EezaGeeza (talk) 13:46, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

Suggestion for Abberration area (Ebenus Astrum)[]

I've always wondered why Aberration wasn't updated to feature corrupted dinos spread throughout the ark. I mean, there's literally an area just overflowing with molten element; coincidentally, molten element is also what flows through the veins of the corrupted creatures. Perhaps you could pass on this suggestion to the map devs? 216.54.120.82 16:00, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

I'll put the suggestion to our map Devs. EezaGeeza (talk) 17:55, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
