The Wooden Cage can be used to encage small creatures and humans.

It is possible to trap humans in a Wooden Cage. As of Patch 231.7, players can not damage themselves within the cage by punching its walls, making it an effective way to keep a player contained without the risk of them committing suicide (via punching) to escape.

Alternatively, it can be used to house small creatures. This can be useful for wandering creatures (like the Oviraptor) so they don't wander away.

The easiest way to lead dinos into the cage is setting them on follow and sprinting about 5–7 feet behind the cage. If you walk too slow, the creature will go around the cage.

Finally, the wooden cage makes an excellent breeding pen for any shoulder-mounted dino; as the space is smaller than an actual floor foundation, and ensures a breeding pair never wanders far enough to break the mating process.

The Cage's Portability makes it an protective and light-weight version of the Tent (Scorched Earth) Tent (Scorched Earth) but missing protection from the element

Notes[]

  • The Wooden Cage is treated as a wooden structure and can not be damaged by hands, stone weapons, or non-explosive ranged attacks.
  • The following aggressive creatures can not damage the Wooden Cage:
