The Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin is a mobility tool in the Aberration DLC. It can be used to ascend zip-lines created by a Zip-Line Anchor
.
Usage[edit | edit source]
This item can be attached to any leg-slot armor piece by dragging it onto the desired leg armor. Wearing pants with the motor attachment and pressing E near the lower end of a zip-line allows you to ascend it.
Doing so requires Gasoline. One unit of Gasoline will slowly be consumed while ascending zip-lines, an overlay in the bottom right corner of the screen shows how much Gasoline is left. The Motor Attachment can be fully refueled by dragging one Gasoline onto your pants once the motor is attached to them.
Pressing E at any time while attached to a line will detach you.
While using the Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin you are free to look around and use weapons, unlike standard Zip-Line usage. Also unlike standard Zip-Line usage, the attachment allows you to remain stationary in the middle of a Zip-Line without using any Gasoline.
If you run out of Gasoline while riding a Zip-Line you will lose the ability to move but will still remain attached to the Zip-Line. Further attempts to use Zip-Lines without Gasoline will still attach you, but you will not be able to move up or down the line. If you have Gasoline in your inventory when the attachment runs out of fuel, the attachment will automatically consume another unit of Gasoline in order to refuel and keep moving.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- Both ascending and descending a Zip-Line with the Zip-Line Motor Attachment Skin uses
Gasoline. You can save on fuel by removing the attachment when only needing to descend.
- The ability to use weapons while Zip-Lining combined with the ability to remain stationary mid-Zip-Line can provide you with a stable and safe vantage point from which to fire on dinos that you wish to kill or render unconscious.
- You are able to mount a zip-line and move around using the Zip-Line Motor Attachment even when encumbered and unable to walk or jump.
- Unlike the
Glider Suit, the Zip-Line Motor Attachment does not wear on the durability of the armor piece to which it is attached.
