Hi, the bonus differs from species to species. Some values got changed in the last time and not every change is stated in the patch-notes, so some numbers are outdated. There are numbers per species and global multipliers that alter the species number. Displayed on the creature-pages should be only the resulting number, i.e. the species-number times the global multiplier. Example for additive-bonus on melee damage for the Pteranodon: additive bonus is 65%, the global multiplier is 14%, so the displayed number is 65% × 14% = 9.1%.--Cadaeib (talk) 09:51, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I have noticed that for the DLC map The Center, there are missing markers for sea spawnpoints for water creatures as you can see here: link, this is example for Mosasaurus page and the sea regions from template don't work for The Center. --Certik303 (talk) 00:30, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Rex Only Wiki-related posts
We cannot help you with ingame-issues like retreiving dinos, bugs or struggles with other players!

The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

 • Only wiki-related issues should be posted here. For support or suggestions regarding the game, try posting on the official forums at [1] or emailing the developers at support@studiowildcard.com.
 • This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post discussions on the talk page.
 • Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
 • Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding reason for deletion request to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion.
 • Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
 • Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
 • For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.

In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene. If a user must be reported here, please use user, preferably as the topic subject/headline.

Current Issues

WIKI Announcement!

This is a wiki for the game, we're not developers despite what you may think about it, so we really can't adjust your problems with the game. If you're having ingame issues or anything unrelated to the wiki, your best bet is to check out if there's a fix at the Steam Forums for the game. We'll most likely delete any pages you make that are unrelated to the wiki. If you have some ideas for helping people with their issues, feel free to make a Guide, as people seem to be having quite a few issues and are unable to find a fix. I'm sure they'd be super grateful. --Z3ther (talk) 22:19, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

I have cleaned up any thing thats not relevant to the issues on this wiki --SharpShot gif (talk) 14:28, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

PSA: New Chatroom

Courtesy of Alianin, we now have an official chat room for real-time communication between users. The chat is open to the public and can be found at ARK Survival Evolved Wiki:IRC. A link to this has been added on the Commmunity Portal and will possibly be added to the main page as well. --Mr Pie 5 (talk) 05:32, 19 September 2015 (UTC)

Habitat Maps

I'm unsure if this is the proper place to mention this but I didn't see any centralized page for the habitat maps. I am partially colorblind and wanted to mention that the current color choices on these maps (yellow/green) makes it completely impossible for me to distinguish the prevalence levels in each region by looking at the map itself. Is there any way these could be changed to more colorblind-friendly options like blue/green/red or something? Thanks!

-- Airiq (talk) 16:27, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi Airiq, good idea! The place to ask things like this is rather the ARK_Survival_Evolved_Wiki:Admin_noticeboard, the community-noticeboard is for informing the community.
I changed the module for the creature-map and its colors are adjustable now. For more info see the page colorblind. I've written a short guide how you can set the colors on the creature-map how you want. I put in an example that changes the gradient to blueish - greenish - reddish. But better see how the colors work for you and adjust them accordingly. If you have questions how to set this up, feel free to ask on Talk:Colorblind. --Cadaeib (talk) 08:51, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
That works great, thanks so much! Really helps out me and a few other guys in my tribe with this issue. Please let me know if you'd like me to delete this discussion or move it somewhere more appropriate.
--Airiq (talk) 04:30, 11 May 2016 (UTC)
Good to hear it works :) I moved that topic to the admin-noticeboard. --Cadaeib (talk) 09:04, 11 May 2016 (UTC)

Huge PRO advertisement

I understand that the operating company of this wiki has to earn money, no question. But I don't think the best way is to bother the customers to-be. This PRO advertisement at the right side is way too big and makes it difficult to use the page, espacially on not so huge viewports. --Anonymous 11:07, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi, you can read more about this design-decisions on the offical gamepedia-page and also give the feedback directly to the staff there. The main-reason for the change is to avoid problems with the infobox which was often affected by that ad. On small viewports that ad does move away for me, so the space for the page-content should be sufficient all the time. If you encounter issues with that you can also send your feedback to gamepedia by mail. --Cadaeib (talk) 12:34, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
I know you admins/moderators of this very wiki can't change it. So you are not those I blame.
I didn't mean small viewports as in mobile devices, I meant e.g. 1200 px. And then have a look at pages with tables, especially long and wide ones as in Base Creature Statistics. You cant see everything and you have to scroll horizontally. This is already a problem w/o the ad, because the only scrollbar is down at the end of the table. If I scroll to the right, then the first column isn't visible anymore, so I can't see to which creature the data belongs to. And I can't find the line I was reading before because of the scroll down for the horizontal scrollbar. The ad makes such things even worse. Sometimes the ad moves below the content, but leaves the space.
By the way, the table thing is a more general problem. A solution could be a table with fixed first column(s) and/or row(s). Should be doable with some CSS as far as I found googling for "css table fixed header and first column".
For the ad problem ... I thank the author of the Stylish browser plugin. It helped me already a lot to change some cumbersome things on websites. --Anonymous 13:13, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
Yes, that issue with the large tables is around for some time. The current state allows its content to be seen on all screen-sizes at least, but it's not optimal. I'll look into a solution. --Cadaeib (talk) 13:31, 12 May 2016 (UTC)

The Center spawn maps

Since the Center is officially part of Ark now. Would it be a good idea to add spawn /habit maps for the Center on to creature pages? Like the one we have now but maybe with tabs like this and clicking on the center shows the habitat map for the Center instead? «Elegant Excalibur» (talk) 18:47, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

Like the one we have no but maybe with tabs like this and clicking on the center shows the habitat map for the Center instead - That is exactly what we were planning on doing. Hopefully it should be ready in the next couple of days.

Okay, good to know. ^^ «Elegant Excalibur» (talk) 03:36, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

DPS of wild dinos

In the latest patch notes update is a Training Dummy announced where you will see the damage per second of tamed dinos and perhaps also weapons. But this value is not directly comparable to the damage value of wild dinos because it is not documented here how fast the creatures can bite or whip their tail. Does someone of you know where this value is hidden in the devkit and possibly can run a bot through the pages to add this value or an already calculated DPS value? Block request

http://ark.gamepedia.com/Special:Contributions/71.10.105.19 - Editing the word "Porn" into several pages. And why doesn't this wiki have anonymous edits turned off? I've been here for 2 days and I've seen more edit fixes and Undo's on a single page than content improvements. Your users are doing more work fixing crap like this than they are improving on the actual wiki. --Rahlzel (talk) 03:18, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

The IP in question has been dealt with and the abuse filter has been updated. While most vandalism edits are done by anonymous users, most anonymous users are not vandals and contribute useful information and fixes. A few bad apples amongst the population does not merit refusing all of them and -at least in my opinion- goes against the very point of a wiki. Furthermore, reverting vandalism edits takes very little effort, and our vandals rarely return after one or two attempts (if they get past the filters at all [which I notice you had some trouble with]), so it's not like our editors are having to strain themselves to help keep the place clean in that regard.

Question about the new Prim+ Game-Mode

Hello, just wanted to ask, when Primitive+ goes official in a few Month, should the primitive+ content be on this page, like the Center, or in a seperate wiki? And if it should stay here, should we start making articles for it already? But then how should they be marked?

Hope you can help me :) (And i hope thats the right place to ask)

ARKGryndal (talk) 07:35, 13 June 2016‎ (UTC)

Hello! As Primitive Plus is going to be released as Official game content, it will definitely have a place on the Wiki. Exactly how to introduce it to the Wiki and distinguish its pages, however, will depend on exactly how Wildcard implements Primitive Plus. For instance, if they include it as DLC, like The Center, then its pages will each have the tag Primitive Plus at the top. If they decided instead to merge the content with the main game files and offer it as a built-in game mode, then its pages would probably just have a notice mentioning its uniqueness to the Primitive Plus game mode.
For now, we are probably going to hold off on adding any Primitive Plus pages until closer to its official release, if not until the release date itself.
I hope this helps, and I apologize that it's such an ambiguous answer. :)

Posting Limit

Hello, I'm going to be making alot of ark tutorials about items / things in the game. (These guides are similar to the ones made by mcspotlights for minecraft) These guides are going to be of 1-2 min explaining a particular item or dinosaur.

My question to you is, will it be considered as spam if I put those video guides up on their respective wiki pages? (An example of my guide is here - http://ark.gamepedia.com/Electricity ) As I'm planning to cover as many topics as possible!

% for taming bonuses to melee damage is off

Currently, the displayed additional bonus melee % for taming is displayed as 16% of blueprint value, while it should actually be 14%. Likewise, The multiplication bonus seems to be different from dino to dino, but the actual value should be 44%. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Destinum (talkcontribs) at 00:56, 3 July 2016‎ (UTC).
