The Archaeopteryx Egg is one of the Eggs in ARK: Survival Evolved.
Overview
Archaeopteryx Eggs are randomly dropped by Archaeopteryx. They can be eaten or used to make Simple Kibble for taming Archaeopteryx, Diplocaulus, Gallimimus, Giant Bee, Ichthyosaurus, Iguanodon, Megaloceros, Morellatops, Pachy, Raptor, and Triceratops. On ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile , they can be used to make Kibble (Archaeopteryx Egg) for taming a Diplocaulus.
After two Archaeopteryx mate, the resulting egg can be hatched into a baby Archaeopteryx.
Grabbing an egg in the presence of wild Archaeopteryx will cause them to become hostile and attack the survivor.
Incubation
The Archaeopteryx Egg takes 2h 37m 52.927s to hatch. It must be in the temperature range of 16 to 20 °C / 61 to 68 °F to successfully hatch, otherwise it will start to lose Health. The female Archaeopteryx needs between 18h and 2d before having the capacity to lay eggs again. The incubation time can be reduced by up to 20% if the egg is placed in an Egg Incubator at the ideal temperature.
Collecting
Archeopteryx eggs can be retrieved from wild or tamed Archeopteryx
Taking an egg from a wild Archeopteryx will cause it to attack you, however there is little risk in picking up an Archeopteryx egg due to their very low - to none damage. A survivor just has to pick it up.
You can alternatively take the eggs from a tamed Archeopteryx without her becoming aggressive. The rate of egg laying can be improved if you have a male Archeopteryx for the Mate Boost and an Oviraptor near by.
Super Fertilized Egg (Mobile)
This section is about a feature exclusively available on Mobile |
Super Fertilized Archaeopteryx Eggs are a type of Archaeopteryx Egg exclusive to ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile.
These Eggs can be obtained after a female Archaeopteryx with a Carnivore Pheromone applied has laid one. They will hatch quicker than normal Archaeopteryx Eggs and the baby Archaeopteryx will have better stats when it has hatched.
They can also be used to craft Super Kibble (Archaeopteryx Egg), which will tame Creatures faster and with more taming effectiveness.
