The Oil Jar is an item in the Scorched Earth-DLC of ARK: Survival Evolved.

Usage

The oil jar can be thrown down and connected to make a trail of flammable materials that can be lit on fire to burn anything in its path including creatures and players that come in contact with it. This makes it good for attacking smaller bases during raids. You could use it for defense of your own base by making a trail all the way around your base then shoot a flame arrow as the enemies draw near.

Notes

  • The oil puddle lasts 5 minutes.
  • When you ignite the oil puddle with flame arrow, the puddle will burn for 30 seconds.
  • Beware ignited oil puddles hitting a spike wall will cause large amounts damage to the player that ignited it continuously for the burning duration, likely a bug similar to the flamethrower.
