Overview

The Simple Pistol is the first gun that you can gain access to, unlockable at level 34. Though boasting less damage per shot than a charged bow-shot, it can fire 6 shots before having to be reloaded. This enables one, with some preparation, to quickly dispatch weak mid-range opponents. Notably effective versus players unless they possess heavier armor.

Durability is consumed at 0.2 per shot. The engram pistol has 60 durability therefore it can shoot 300 shots before needing repaired. The Simple Pistol deals 18,900 ranged damage per 300 shots, and 378 ranged damage per magazine.

Notes/Trivia

  • The in-game model is heavily based on the Colt 1836 Paterson 5 shot revolver, as noted by the handle, folding trigger, and lack of trigger guard. It also shares some similarities to the Colt 1851 Navy Revolver, as indicated by it being a 6 shot revolver instead of only 5 shot, and having a loading lever, which Paterson's originally lacked, though many were fitted with them later on. It is missing the distinctive rear sight notch in its hammer that actual Colt's have to aid in aiming as well. In game, it loads unlike any real-world open-top revolver - in game, the loading lever allows the cylinder to be removed, while in real life, the gun must be disassembled in order to remove the cylinder.
  • During the height of the day, reflections from the hammer may blind you. Dyeing the Pistol a dark color will solve this.
  • In game, when the pistol is selected and brought to hand, the player spins the cylinder of the gun. If you look closely though, you'll notice that the cylinder actually spins in the opposite direction than the players hand spins it. Whether this was to emulate the effect of something spinning very quickly as seen in propellers, or just simply a mistake on the part of the animators though is unclear currently.
  • Currently on Xbox, having a Laser Attachment on the gun and active the player cannot hear the gun when fired, as if the gun had a Silencer; the same problem happens on PC when having a Flashlight Attachment on the gun.
