Soap can be used to remove dye from previously painted items and structures. In order to use it, you have to stand in front of the structure you want to remove the paint off. Press E and click on the respective button in the wheel menu. Using Soap by equipping it to your hotbar will poison you. To remove dye from an item (like armor) drag the soap over it.

Soap is crafted in a Cooking Pot or Industrial Cooker. When crafting, make sure to include a Waterskin, Water Jar or Canteen with at least 25% water in it.

Due to the resources required to make soap, and the fact that each soap is a single use, it can be a very expensive way to undo mass vandalism to a base. A much cheaper alternative could be to simply paint over the vandalism with a Paintbrush or Spray Painter.
