Scorched Earth Baby Feeding Requirements[]

Currently, it seems that the Rex will require kibble from all of the Scorched Earth creatures available, so if you wish to breed them it would be wise to have kibble on hand from each type of animal. I have had them require Gallimimus Egg Kibble, Terror Bird Egg Kibble, Thorny Dragon Egg Kibble, Pulminoscorpion Egg Kibble, so be ready if you are going to breed them.

Wild Stat Calculator[]

I'm in the process of taming a level 116 Rex: http://i.imgur.com/uSsyvDv.jpg but when I entered the stats into the calculator on the page the total comes up to level 104. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rikis85 (talkcontribs) at 17:35, 19 October 2015‎ (UST). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Hi, thanks for the feedback and the screenshot! I checked all the numbers, everything is exact accoring to the calculation-model we use, except that it seems the Rex has somehow didn't use 12 levelups. We apparently haven't fully understand how the leveling of the wild dinos work, maybe these 12 levelups were spend in "Movement Speed" (which has an increase of 0 in wild dinos). I thought they'd skip these unused stats, but maybe they don't.
I you happen to see more inconsitencies (or consistencies), please let use know.--Cadaeib (talk) 18:30, 19 October 2015 (UTC)
Here is that same rex post-tame: http://i.imgur.com/ukncFvj.jpg and when I enter those stats into the calculator, it shows the rex as level 175. I believe that the bonus levels after the tame is done are still supposed to count as wild levels. So before tame, there appears to be 12 missing levels while post tame there are 10 extra levels.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Rikis85 (talkcontribs) at 19:36, 19 October 2015‎. Please sign your posts with --~~~~. Thanks for posting the post-taming stats! I tested the numbers on different dinos and it seems the taming-process grants some one-time-bonusses depending on the species, e.g. a rex gets a buff on melee damage which is not explainable by the gained levels. Other creatures get buffs on other stats (Phiomia additionaly on food, Parasaur on Speed). So the tool here is currently only correct for pre-taming-stats.--Cadaeib (talk) 20:30, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

Damage per Level[]

There's inconsistencies in this article. The footnotes suggest damage is 80 per bite, but the article suggests 60. As the 60 is wholly uncited, I suggest changing it to 80 as suggested by the last patch notes that mentioned changing Rex damage-- and yes, I went through all the patches from 173 on like a loser to check xD there are no documented changes to the Rex bite that mention shaving off 20 points of damage. -- Melissiah (talk) 14:00, 7 October 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure exactly which footnote you're referring to that would suggest 80 damage, but according to devkit version 217.0, Rex damage is 60 (this is also where we got all the stats for every other creature, in case you're wondering). If you'd like, I can provide a screenshot of the data in question, or if you have the devkit downloaded for yourself I can direct you to exactly where it can be found. --Mr Pie 5 (talk) 14:21, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
This question has been also answered by the devs. It's 60. I don't know why it was written in the patchnotes, I guess it was an error.--Cadaeib (talk) 14:31, 7 October 2015 (UTC)

Health per Level[]

Either there are other factors affecting the stat gain, or there are some people counting wrong. I tamed a Rex at level 81 (120 something after taming effectiveness) and while I haven't checked the exact amount, he's getting nearly 1000 health per point. But I've seen the amount per point on this page fluctuate between ~300 and ~700. Before I start viciously insisting that my observations are right and everybody else is wrong, does anybody have any info to add to this? --Mr Pie 5 (talk) 02:56, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

My research suggests that stat gain for tamed creatures depends on the value of a stat after the creature has been tamed and any bonus levels have been assigned. This means that high-level creatures will generally have larger stat gains than low-level creatures. It also explains why people keep seeing different values. I have some notes that I plan on turning into an article/section when I get the time, but it might not be until Sunday or so. -- IllegalOpcode (talk) 16:09, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
If that's the case, then some page reworks are necessary. Not only is our current information misleading, but it means that taming higher-level dinos is more useful in the long run that previously thought. --Mr Pie 5 (talk) 17:08, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, the attributes tables need to be updated to reflect the increases in stats for wild versus tamed creatures. I would suggest that we make a template for this, as it is currently quite unwieldy--or we could include the base stats and wild/tamed growth in the infobox. Thoughts? -- IllegalOpcode (talk) 22:07, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
It could be made to fit and look good in the infobox if formatted in a way similar to what you've done to the item infoboxes. But to also include the stat increases and the algorithms for how they vary with level would bloat the box rather quickly. Unfortunately, nothing currently comes to mind as far as a good format for this information. It would probably be easier to design if we could figure out the exact formula for the increases - if it's just [health when tamed] * X%, that should be pretty easy, but ([health when tamed] * [level] + [taming effectiveness]) / 5 + [gender modifier] would be a lot trickier if it turns out to be that complicated. --Mr Pie 5 (talk) 23:56, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Feedback needed.[]

My Rex doesn't burn through her stamina bar after a few seconds of sprinting anymore. Can anyone else confirm this change? ---KazarSanaga (talk)

Edit: And before you ask, no, I didn't pump a ton of levels into stam. ---KazarSanaga (talk)

Yes, nothing like a good old TLC. Catcobra (talk) 02:43, 29 July 2018 (UTC)

Taming Requirements[]

I think these stats are outdated. I am taming a lvl 14 Rex and it only takes 23 feedings of Raw Meat, for about 1:02:00 total time. Each Raw Meat gives just over 4.5% taming progress. All of my settings are default. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.237.14.63 (talkcontribs) at 06:55, 25 October 2017‎. Please sign your posts with ~~~~

By "default" do you mean a setting of "1" or "2". The default multiplier was 2 last time I checked. Jagid3 (talk) 06:43, 25 October 2017 (UTC)Jagid3
"Default" means in Single Player a taming multiplier of 2.5. --Flachdachs (talk) 07:52, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

Yuty or Rex?[]

Just for fun, I want to know what you all think is better, the Yutyrannus or the T. Rex? I personally think the Yuty is better, they have higher health and Attack, plus they have the fear and courage roar. That’s my opinion. I love to debate about Dino’s in ARK Catcobra (talk) 02:53, 29 July 2018 (UTC)

Please keep the discussion pages of the wiki for things about the wiki. To talk about the game itself it is better to use the dedicated media like forums or Discord groups. --Flachdachs (talk) 05:20, 29 July 2018 (UTC)

Hoeveel heb je nodig 1 bamischijf[]

Someone added that to the recipe section next to water and Google says it's Dutch for "How much do you need 1 bistro".

I am curious if that is the dutch way of saying, "You need 1 water." At first I thought someone added a keyboard mashing session for spite or something, but now I wonder if the person was trying to be helpful to Dutch speakers. Is there a page in Dutch?

Jagid3 (talk) 18:05, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Jagid3

Google translation is wrong. Better search this word bamischijf and you will find out that it is actually a Dutch snack. This edit and the other edits from this IP address were vandalism and not helpful. In this wiki there are only very few pages translated to Dutch, but not the Rex page. --Flachdachs (talk) 19:24, 5 October 2018 (UTC)

Crazy Levels[]

I'm on lost island. Spotted a level 500 rex fighting a level 225 trike. Both are wild. I'm on official PvP. Tamed the Rex and it's level 700. That's crazy because the max level is 420 and that's not evel leveled, mutated nor imprinted
