Breeding in Cave

If the dire bear is going to be included in the list then every single animal that is smaller than a t-rex needs to be included; that's going to look ridiculous and really should be obvious why it shouldn't be done. They can all be bred inside of the cave and work just fine. If you're going to insist on adding it back then I'm not going to edit war, but you need to set it for 'limited' at the very least since it literally cannot enter the cave entrance, thus not going from entrance to artifact. 209.33.126.243 19:26, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

Ok, you are right that it would enlarge the list and that is not very useful. The strategy of breeding inside or bring a baby through the narrow part of the entrance is listed in another section. I just reacted on your comment "doesn't count" which seemed to deny this strategy as a valid way to manage this cave. --Flachdachs (talk) 22:02, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
If I remember correctly, it was decided a long time ago that the list should only refer to fully grown creatures, not those that had to be brought it as a baby and raised, and I agree with that. It's "limited" at best, incompatible at worst.

Compatible creatures

I couldn't go through the choke point with a direwolf (listed as compatible) Can you show your sources?

  • Definitely a mistake, there is no way it can go though the choke point on non mobile ARK.

Since there is quite some difference between this cave on PC and Mobile it might be good to separate this info. The Direwolf is the best mount on Mobile but is now listed as not accessible. Also breeding inside is different, it doesn't really work on Mobile since they are teleported out. Also there are no Direbears or Purlovia in the cave on Mobile. Structure placement

Despite all the mentions of placing spikes/torches, you can't actually do that on servers unless they've specifically turned on cave construction. The wiki is supposed to focus on play as it applies to official servers. (See item 7 in the Wiki rules.) Everything else should be called out with the specific configuration needed (single-player, mobile, etc.). -- Ouroborus (talk) 21:22, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
